‘Didn’t ask for their views’? ‘If Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is repealed, how would it affect how servicemembers in your immediate unit work together to get the job done?’ ‘How would it affect how you trust each other, and pull together to perform as a team?’ ‘How would your job performance and personal morale be affected?’ Here’s a good one: ‘If Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is repealed, and you are assigned a bathroom facility with an open bay shower that someone you believe to be a gay or lesbian servicemember also used, what are you most likely to do?’ I don’t know how you can get more specific about their views than ‘What would you do if you were showering with a gay guy?’ without maybe giving the name of the actual gay guy they’d be showering with!

JON STEWART, ripping apart Senator John McCain’s contention that military brass didn’t “solicit the views” of their “subordinates”—by reading questions directly from the U.S. military’s own internal survey on gays serving in the military, on The Daily Show.

What else can we call John McCain now but a petulant, disrespectful, unprincipled, and still-sore-about-losing-the-2008-election dickhole?  Fuck him.

An education was a bit like a communicable sexual disease. It made you unsuitable for a lot of jobs and then you had the urge to pass it on.

30 Day Crochet Challenge

Day 3: Do you have any other WIPs (works in progress)?

I answered this when I answered # 2.  Except I forgot to mention the dish cloths and the teddy bear hat I am also working on.  I always have at least 6 things on the go.

Day 4: How did you learn how to crochet?

My older sister first taught me when I was about 13? She was left handed and I’m right handed so it was a little confusing.  After learning the basics, i left it alone for over 10 years and never really thought about it again.  When I was 24, I picked it back up with a vengeance and taught myself how to read patterns and do more complex stitches.

I’ve never stopped and I never will.

I am, and ever will be a hooker for life.

30-DAY CROCHETING CHALLENGE

Day 2: What is currently on your hooks?

Oh just about a bazillion things.. I’ve got a blanket on the go, a neck cowl that’s almost finished. Also working on a little green robot. And a lovely skinny scarf.

30-Day Crocheting Challenge

About 2 weeks ago, my friend Jill started a 30-day knitting challenge.  I’ve been following along closely, and she convinced me to start my own crocheting challenge.  The list has been taken from Jill’s list and modified as necessary to apply to the average crocheter.

Day 1: What was your first finished project?

Hmm.. I’ve really had to dig back through the memories but I believe it a black crocheted kitty hat. I’ve crocheted so many things that I can’t be certain, but i’m pretty sure.

This is my lovely bf modeling said hat.
